چکیده

Optical Flow estimation in noisy image sequences requires a special denoising strategy. Towards this end we introduce a new tensor-driven anisotropic diffusion scheme which is designed to enhance optical-flow-like spatiotemporal structures. This is achieved by selecting diffusivities in a special manner depending on the eigenvalues of the well known structure tensor. We illustrate how the proposed choice differs from edgeand coherence-enhancing anisotropic diffusion. Furthermore we extend a recently discovered discretization scheme for anisotropic diffusion to 3D data. An automatic stop criterion to terminate the diffusion after a suitable time is given. The performance of the introduced method is examined quantitatively using image sequences with a substantial amount of noise added.

Computation Optical Flow Using Pipeline Architecture

Accurate estimation of motion from time-varying imagery has been a popular problem in vision studies, This information can be used in segmentation, 3D motion and shape recovery, target tracking, and other problems in scene analysis and interpretation. We have presented a dynamic image model for estimating image motion from image sequences, and have shown how the solution can be obtained from a ...

SRAD, Optical Flow and Primitive Prior Based Active Contours for Echocardiography

Accurate delineation of object borders is highly desirable in echocardiography, especially the left ventricle. Among other model-based techniques, active contours (or snakes) provide a unique and powerful approach to image analysis. In this work, we propose the use of a novel external energy for a gradient vector flow (GVF) snake. This energy consists of optical flow estimates of heart sequence...

Optical flow estimation using high frame rate sequences

Gradient-based optical flow estimation methods such as LucasKanade method work well for scenes with small displacements but fail when objects move with large displacements. Hierarchical matching-based methods do not suffer from large displacements but are less accurate. By utilizing the high speed imaging capability of CMOS image sensors, the frame rate can be increased to obtain more accurate ...

Accurate optical flow in noisy image sequences using flow adapted anisotropic diffusion

In this paper we combine 3D anisotropic diffusion and motion estimation for image denoising and improvement of motion estimation. We compare different continuous isotropic nonlinear and anisotropic diffusion processes, which can be found in literature, with a process especially designed for image sequence denoising for motion estimation. All of these processes initially improve motion estimatio...

the method based on the spatial disparities [6, 71 used This paper proposes a method for detecting obstacles on a runway from monocular image sequences. The surface of the runway is modeled as a plane and the model flow field corresponding to the runway is described by 8 coefficients. The set of 8 coefficients describing the initial model flow field is given by the data from Inertial Navigation...
